It has been almost two weeks since I arrived. Everything looks fine at this time. Class begins. But courses are really tough. And I will be too busy to write anything at that time. But I will try to write something interesting and funny here, to let my friends know and share my feelings.
Climate:
Everyday is sunny here, but I bring an umbrella in my bag, for showers usually occur in the afternoon. It is hot in the daytime as Wuhan, yet night is cool, and I need to turn off the fan. The daytime is quite long, the sky will become dark until 9 pm at night. I heard my classmates said the hottest months are June and July, so I may buy an air conditioner next year. And now a fan is just enough.
Food:
Although it is a small town. However, I can buy anything you want to eat here. There are at least two big Walmart here, you can buy vegetables, fruits, milk. Also there are food stores of China and Vietnam, you can buy Zheng Jiang Vinegar, Soy source, Lao Gan Ma, Rice, Dou Fu(I really like it!), Italian noodles,(not like Re Gan Mian).
The Chinese Buffet is really cheap here, only $5 for lunch, which is cheaper than Macdonald's. I went twice. One restaurant named "Super China". There are Chinese dishes and foods, like dumplings, noodles, Bao Zi, Chun Juan, and Dou Fu. Another one named "Hong Kong", which is even cheaper than "Super China", but it contains less dishes.
People:
People is really nice here. There are several times, when I look at the map and don't know where the building is, someone will come by and ask me whether I need help or not. Also, sometimes you will see someone will smile at you and say Good morning or hi, when I enter a building and in the elevator.
The CSSA(Chinese Students and Scholar Association) here is really a family for us Chinese students. There are usually volunteers who take a ride and go shopping with us. Yes, without car, you can not go to Walmart.(But there is also buses to Walmart. The bus comes every one hour, and I need to change buses for one time.) Absolutely, no car is a problem for me for a long time in the future. I don't plan to buy a car in the first year. And I even don't have any experience of driving in China. So I need help from others for a long time.
My life:
I settle down now, living alone, cooking by myself. I eat rice everyday. Today's lunch, I bring the rices and dishes which cooked yesterday. I have classes on Tuesday and Thursday for the whole day. Also grading assignments to perform my TA duties.
Best regards
